The Department of English offers a flexible & distinctive syllabus
that consists of self-contained units assessed on a semester basis. As you progress
through the semester and pass the examinations you will receive credit for the units
you have successfully completed. This helps you have a clear indication of your
academic progress as well as give you the flexibility and opportunity to shape your
studies according to your developing interests.
Our courses are designed to meet the needs of the community through providing a
practical focus that involves real world discussions, research & hands – on
learning. Such skills prepare students to make positive contributions to a challenging
& ever changing global society.
Objectives
The educational philosophy of the Faculty is to:

Academic Program
The English Department offers a four-year course leading to a B.A. degree
in English Student are required to complete 141 credit hours (46 courses) for graduation.

c. Research Center:
The Research Center opened in the Fall 2003 semester. It was established to found the principles of research and academic honesty among students, as well as to guide students in conducting research work. It acts as a bridge between professors, students and research resources, as well as a kind of guarantee that the research done is not copied, plagiarized or written by someone other than the student himself/herself. As such, assistants of the Center guide and help students write research papers using a proper format, introduce students to the correct method of using available research sources, and help ensure that students do not plagiarize their research work.
This instruction is done through the use of a series of individual conferences between Research Center assistants and students.
Accreditation
By the decree No. 117 of the Ministry of Higher Education on 19/12/1999, the faculty was accredited to grant the Bachelor of Alsun.The departments of specialization are: English, Spanish, French and German.
